A World That’s Growing Dim
I’ve seen what life has afforded me; on an inkling and a whim
Standing in the twilight of a world that’s growing dim.
Learned secrets from the desert ‘neath a blood red Diné sky
Long before this wayward path somehow went awry.
Ever onward in a journey that is seeking to restore;
Traveling in the footsteps of those who’ve come before.
Intrepid explorer of the things as yet unseen
Tossed about within the storm; searching for a dream.
Drawn to the edge of the abyss; trembling on its rim
Unable to bring light into a world that’s growing dim.
Witnessed a tropical paradise islanders call Hell
Deep within warm, blue waters where pirates dare to dwell.
An erratic, restless soul but nonetheless sublime
On a voyage of discovery that is running out of time
Chased inner demons to where Heaven fears to tread
Caught out on a limb, hanging by a thread.
While the whispering of angels sings a solemn hymn
I walk within these shadows of a world that’s growing dim…
