Beyond Her Years

They say she’s a big girl and she doesn’t cry anymore.
She’s a woman but she cries behind her closed door.
Although she’s never been down this road before
She’s done her time and walked the line and she will endure.
The lady’s not as fragile as she appears
For she hides her tears
And preservers
With a strength beyond her years.
Not sure of tomorrow beyond the setting sun
She’s lived every day one by one.
Life may get her down but it won’t put her on the run
For the lady is wise beyond the living she has done.
Moment by moment time disappears.
She’s shed the tears
And felt the fears
Far beyond her years.
