Based on Thomas Eidson’s novel, The Missing (2003) is one of those western movies that does not necessarily paint indigenous people in a favorable light. To be honest it is about 50/50. Tommy Lee Jones portrays a white man living among Native Americans who becomes reacquainted with his estranged daughter when his granddaughter is kidnapped by a band of rouge Apaches lead by the evil brujo (Eric Schweig). Tommy Lee is good in this movie (as is his usual) but the Native actors deserved better. Still, I would watch it just to see some of my favorite actors.
