In a traditional Cherokee wedding, the bride wears a white dress and moccasins. The dress is made from pieces of cloth that tribe women tear into squares or rectangles and sew together. Often the dress is handed down from moter to daugther for generations. Cherokee grooms wear black pants, moccasins, and a reddish-orange shirt adorned with ribbons.
