Bio

Eddie Spears was born on November 29, 1982 on the Lower Brulé Indian Reservation in Chamberlain, South Dakota where his family lived until moving to Pierre, South Dakota when he was in the first grade. Later the family moved to Aberdeen, South Dakota where he grew up and attended immons Middle School and Aberdeen Central High School. He had one sister and fiv brother, among them is Michael spears who is also an actor.

The two Spears brothers modeled for fashion designer, Virgil Ortiz in 2005 for his "Indigene" clothing line. That photoshoot landed them on the cover of New Mexico Magazine’s August 2005 issue. More recently, they starred together in Yellow Rock as Broken Wing (Michael) and Angry Wolf (Eddie).

In October of 2005, Eddie attended and was a mentor at the 2nd annual HatcH audiovisual festival in Bozeman, Montana, which is a film and arts festival whose mission is to provide mentorship, education, inspiration, and recognition to the next generation of creative innovators. Spears co-hosted the 39th Annual American Indian Film Institute Awards in November of 2015.

Eddie is a member of the Lakota Sioux Lower Brule Tribe of South Dakota and speaks Lakota, although not fluently. He can dance both the traditional and grass ceremonies. Currently residing in Montana, Spears is an avid outdoorsmen. He enjoys hunting, fishing and archery. He also has rodeo experience.

For the record, Eddie stands 6’1” tall.
