Bio
Born on March 23, 1971, the 44 year old Jay Tavare is not only an award winning actor, he frequently prepares and performs his own stunts when the part allows. An example of this was a 23 story freefall while filming the season finale of CSI Miami. The stunt earned Jay an Emmy nomination in 2008. His expertise in martial arts, dancing, acrobatics, bare back riding, archery and swordsmanship has given Jay the ability to create flawless and believable characters on film.
Often, Jay travels to participate in Honor Your Life, a suicide prevention program for Native youth, at the Mescalero Apache reservation in New Mexico. He also serves as the celebrity spokesman for Warming Hearts and Adopt-a-Native-Elder, a non-profit organization benefiting the Navajo elders in Utah and Arizona.
